Dedicated Funding for Transit
The Milwaukee County Transit System is the last major transit system relying on property taxes for support. Attempts at a sales tax to fund transit have failed because of an unwillingness by the state to approve any changes.
Restoring State Aid to Transit
In 2011, Governor Walker slashed state aid to the Milwaukee County Transit System by 10%. This was completely unnecessary and the money for transit is still with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation as a surplus.
