Restoring Hope: Interfaith Earth Network

Set aside a little or a lot of time, but be sure to drop by the dynamic open house highlighting the 10th anniversary of the Interfaith Earth Network from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 19,
at the Urban Ecology Center, 1500 E. Park Pl.

We are calling it Renewing Hope.
And we think it will.

Now a program of the Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee, IEN is returning to its roots for this event. We were founded as a collaboration of the Urban Ecology Center, the Interfaith Conference and the House of Peace.

It’s free and family friendly. There’ll be a celebration ceremony, music, interactive displays, engaging workshops, discussions, networking, kids’ activities, and delicious sustainable refreshments. Dozens of area organizations will provide information and practical ideas on water, food, education, energy, advocacy, consumption, waste, transportation, natural and human-made environments, and more.

For more details, see www.interfaithearthnetwork.org or call 414-276-9050.

This celebration is being done in partnership with the Urban Ecology Center
with important support from the High Wind Association

2017 WTRA Annual Meeting

Annual meeting of the Wisconsin Transit Riders Alliance

MTRU 2016 Holiday Celebration

Join the Milwaukee Transit Riders Union for our first annual holiday party at Von Trier 2235 N Farwell Ave. Transit advocates from across the city can celebrate the year’s successes and look forward to 2017 which is full of opportunity to improve transit in our region.

At our event you can become a member for the 2017 year for $4 and can also buy one of our special ‘I RIDE WITH THE MILWAUKEE TRANSIT RIDERS UNION’ T-shirts. These shirts are Union made, with our signature royal blue.

Give the gift of transit justice. Do you know someone who relies on transit? These shirts make a great present – buy a shirt and a membership for a friend or family member for $10 (a $15 value).

2017 may shape up to be a significant year for transit in Milwaukee – Upcoming opportunities include:
•Potential for Bus Rapid Transit funding announcement from USDOT New Starts
•Continued advocacy for the MLK Streetcar Line
•The beginning of dialogue around regional transit
Our work has never been more important. We hope you will join us to celebrate as we continue to move towards these goals.
